Capitalism or Socialism - You Decide

I’ve had a lot going through my mind over the last 15-16 hours since Obama’s press conference last night. I’ve had so much to say on it, but just not sure where to start. First let me say, what a joke. The President of the United States has 3 weeks into his presidency has now told a bold faced lie directly to the American people. I’m not going to dance around it. He is a liar. What was the lie some you may ask? He sat there on prime time national television and said that there were NO EARMARKS in this so called stimulus bill that is about to be passed by the Senate.

This bill is filled to the brim with earmarks, pork, or whatever you want to call it. What do you call $1.5 billion for homeless prevention activities, $200 million for government facility modernization, or $100 Million for National School Lunch program? These are pork projects or earmarks and the list goes on and on. The dems are trying to change the definition of earmarks by saying that everything in this bill is for stimulus.   I'm sorry, but there is hardly a thing in this bill that will stimulate this economy in any way. It may create some jobs temporary jobs, but nothing permanent.

Last night, Obama continued his press to scare the hell out of every American by telling us we are headed for a disaster if we do not act now. He already said last week that the time for talk is over. He is doing everything possible to stop the debate of this bill and just shove down the throats of the American people whether we like it or not. Public support for this bill has been plummeting has people have begun to find out more and more just what is in this bill. It is nothing but a Trillion dollar government growth bill that will only grow our government more and build our national debt to the point where they will raise or taxes just to cover that cost.

It is amazing. I’ve never heard a President, the leader of the free “for now” world, stand up and try to scare Americans to death. Reagan came into office with the economy in worse shape than it is now despite what Obama tells you. He did not stand there and tell us that we are headed for disaster. He stood there and spoke of the hope of how great this country would be and how we would get there. He did not say, do what I say to do or else we’re headed for disaster. I find it absolutely absurd that we have a president that speaks to the American people this way.

This guy wants to talk about bi-partisanship and reaching across the isle and so on. He does nothing of the kind. He talks that game to the cameras, but he and the democrats have done everything possible to keep the republicans out of the debate because they know the more they are allowed into debate, the more it exposes what the democrats are really doing and that is massively growing the size and scope of the government through spending. It sad now that we have 3 republicans that are now voting for this bill out of political expediency. They are trying to save their re-elections in their home states, but I think they will see a political backlash for it as will everyone else who pushed this bill.

You know, from day one, I held on to some little bit of hope that maybe, the President would do the right thing for this country. He would want to see all avenues of possible recovery. Now I truly see that he has had an agenda from day one. His chief of staff said we should not let a good crisis go to waste and they’re certainly holding true to that. He is seizing the opportunity to push forward his agenda. To make you and me more dependent on government than ever before. He is going to tax the daylights out of us as the spending of this bill truly takes effect over the next couple of years. He said last night that only government can get us out of this crisis and only government has the resources to jolt the economy. That right there shows that he is a man that truly believes that government is the answer to any and everything in this country.

Folks we are starting to see the death of Capitalism emerge in this country. With the passing of this bill, we are going to take another giant step toward European style socialism. We are going to see the private sector, the businesses of this country decline. We are going to start seeing rising unemployment as businesses will have to cut staff to meet the cost of their soon to be rising taxes. This is exactly what happened with Carter, Johnson, and FDR. They all wanted to spend and spend and grow government and they did not stimulate the economy one bit. Socialism fails wherever it is tried here and over seas. Look at the British government. They are on the verge of bankruptcy because of their socialist policies.

I pray that for the sake of our children and grandchildren that the people of this country wake up to what is going on today. We are having the wool pulled over our eyes people. I want this country to succeed and government is not our solution. Obama is dead wrong in this fact. You unleash our private sector and you will see growth like you would not believe. It happened under Reagan, Kennedy, and yes even under Bush. You lower those tax rates and you will see that the private sector will never let any of us down.

Government has been a part of the problem from day one. It is government regulation and interference that helped kick off the recession we are in now. Government needs to get out of the way and let the American people and the private sector do what they do best. I believe this can still happen, but we have to act and keep things from getting worse than it will when this bill passes today.
